I clicked on a link that someone blogged to an Allure photo slideshow. The slideshow is about 2011 half up hair dos.
Fine okay, no problem. I like looking at new possibilities for my crazy hair.
I started to click through the slide show and began to notice something…frightening…about the models.
They look DEAD. Seriously, they look like they are dying or extremely sick. It’s not just because they are meeting the ridiculous body size standards the fashion industry has dished out.
No—it’s their eyes….sunken into their faces and ringed with black and purplish makeup/skin (haven’t decided which), it gives them an uncanny resemblence to zombies in the horror movies I love so much.
I would look past it if it was just one model looking this way, but seriously every single one of them have this gaunt sunken expression. There’s no emotion, no recognition in their eyes that they are…alive.
It’s creepy. It’s weird. Why is it fashionable? Why is this the beauty standard? None of these women look happy with what they are doing or what they are showing off.
It completely turns me off to the look that they are selling. I can’t be the only one. I mean the women clearly look like they are ill and unhealthy.
How is this what the fashion industry thinks is in???
Seriously they all look as if they left the long-term ward of the hospital to put on some ridiculously small piece of clothing.
Take a look through the slideshow…it’s unsettling and disturbing. The fashion industry NEEDS TO CHANGE.
